OYA Solar Inc, a leading PV system developing company in Ontario, has declared its latest 3.5 MW solar power project, in association with Atlas Tube, a company engaged in the production of hollow structural steel sections.
The current rooftop project to be installed over the 650,000 square foot roof top of the Atlas manufacturing facility is located in Harrow Ontario and owned by the John Maneely Company. The project when completed will surpass the other bigger installations in the city and provide enough electricity to meet nearly 30% of the yearly power consumption of Atlas. OYA has entered into strategic partnership with companies such as Polar Racking, Tremco Weatherproofing Technologies and Conergy Canada in the $ 20 Million project and expects to complete and commission the 500 kW first phase by next spring.
Manish Nayar, OYA’s Managing Partner, said that by signing the agreement the company has fixed a new standard for rooftop solar projects in North America. He added that the new project is a standing evidence of their leadership in the green energy of Ontario. He further said that his company feels proud about its capability to provide bigger sized solar solutions to its customers. He concluded by saying that his company visualizes a phenomenal growth for rooftop solar projects and is rightly positioned to meet the demand of its clients. He added that the clients always look into the advantages of associating with the company to build bigger and intricate solar solutions that help the province to meet its power needs.
During the year 2009, Ontario was occupying the third position for the total number of PV installations in North America. In the current year according to a report from the Canadian Solar Industry Association (CanSIA), Ontario has completed the installation of 100 MW systems during the current year. OYA is expected to play an active role in increasing the growth of solar PV installations in Ontario and the company is looking for more projects to improve its current 30 MW portfolio.
