BlueFire Renewables Partners with Cooper Marine for Cellulosic Ethanol Plant

BlueFire Renewables Inc., a company that has its focus upon changing the world’s paradigm on transportation fuel by way of producing renewable fuels from cellulosic wastes of a non-food nature, has entered into a contract with the company Cooper Marine & Timberlands (CMT) towards providing feedstock for a planned cellulosic ethanol plant in the location of Fulton, Mississippi, for a 15-year term.

Under this contract, CMT will be supplying the required feedstock for BlueFire Renewables’ Fulton project towards producing around 19 million gallons ethanol annually. This ethanol production will be sourced from the locally available cellulosic materials including furniture wood waste, construction wood waste, land clearing, storm debris, pre-commercial thinnings, forest residual chips and wood chips.

This agreement provides for CMT to pursue a cost-effective strategy towards feedstock supply that is made possible by the proximity of the project site to feedstock sources as well as the flexibility provided by BlueFire Renewables’ process towards using a wide range of the cellulosic waste materials either in pure or in mixed forms. The Fulton project will be tapping the significant biomass resources of Mississippi towards creating economic development as well as energy self-sufficiency in Mississippi.
