Zotos International Inc, a hair care products producing company and a fully owned auxiliary company of Shiseido Co Ltd, a Japanese cosmetic company with leading brand names such as Zotos, JOICO, ISO and Senscience, has declared that it has celebrated the foundation laying ceremony of its 3.3 MW on site wind production facility to be built at an estimated cost of $7 million in its production plant located in Geneva New York.
The company is planning to recover 30% of its investments through the federal stimulus bills and the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. The company hopes to recover its investments in a span of five years. Zoto has made this wind power investment a part of its green power program to achieve 100% renewable energy usage at its 670,000-square-foot Geneva plant by the year 2011.
The American Wind Energy Association called the current Zoto wind project as the biggest among the production companies in the United States. The two turbine wind project is the first such wind development in Ontario County and one of the biggest privately owned wind project in the state of New York. The project will incorporate two 1,650 kW wind turbines to produce a maximum of 7,500 mWh of clean power in a year.
Stu Einstein, Mayor of Geneva, said that the city is pleased to support the wind project. He added that the people of the city understand the important role of renewable energy for the improvement of world economy. He expressed optimism about Zoto project bringing in more such renewable energy investments to the city as well to the country.
