enXco Service Corporation, an affiliate of EDF Energies Nouvelles, has declared the entering of a 10 year accord with Flat Water Wind Farm LLC, a company owned by Gestamp Wind North America for running and up-keeping of the wind farm.
The Flat Water Wind Farm owned by the affiliate company of Gestamp Renewables is a 65 MW wind power producing project situated in Richardson County, Nebraska. The wind farm incorporates 40 GE 1.5 MW wind turbines. enXco Service Corporation will assist in the construction and commissioning of the wind turbines and later on will continue to offer operations and maintenance services at the wind farm site. enXco will provide complete Operations and Maintenance services during the post-warranty period and provide onsite Operations and Maintenance services for the remaining wind plant all through the warranty period of the wind turbines. The company has also arranged to render relentless remote monitoring services for the wind turbines from its Operations Control Center situated near Chandler, Minnesota. The construction of the project was started during spring 2010 and is anticipated to start its commercial operations in December 2010.
Keith Smith, Business Development Manager of enXco conveyed his happiness about Gestamp selecting his company to provide Operations and Maintenance services for the wind farm. He said that the involvement of his company in the Flat Water project helps it to augment its client base in the central region and expressed his happiness to help Gestamp Wind North America in their initial project in the US.
David Jones, Gestamp’s Chief Technical Officer, conveyed that his company is expecting a long-term association with enXco in Flat Water Wind Farm operations. He added that his company has entered the US market with a goal to build a project to offer top level of clean energy production and could achieve it by choosing enXco as its partner.
