Schott Solar Barometer Highlights Importance of Solar Energy

With the Solar Power International 2010 event about to begin, a new national survey poll has suggested that a vast majority of the Americans overwhelmingly supported the funding and development of solar energy. The findings were reported in the SCHOTT Solar Barometer a nationally representative survey conducted by Kelton an independent polling firm.

The survey has observed that 94% of Americans think that it is significant for USA in using and developing solar energy. 80% feel that the Congress should be reallocating federal subsidies towards renewable energy industries. 49% of the Americans are currently considering options for solar energy for usage in their business plans or for their homes within a year from now.

Consecutively for the third year, SCHOTT Solar Barometer has highlighted the growing and wide support among Americans for solar energy. Since solar energy is very popular, it is high time policy makers enact measures in rapidly increasing the usage of solar while the lawmakers should be considering solar as an industry towards creating jobs, improving competitiveness, bolstering national security along with reducing harmful pollution.
