Enphase Offered Microinverter Systems to Feature in Solar Power Projects

Enphase Energy Inc, a solar microinverter systems manufacturing company, has declared that its microinverter technology will feature in a 4.5 MW solar power project formulated and managed by Main Street Power, a country wide solar developing company and funded by the well known financial organization Morgan Stanley.

The solar power project of Main Street Power will be located in about 36 locations with power production capabilities ranging from 30 kW to 300 kW plus. The Main Street Power has signed a 20 year power purchase agreement (PPA) with San Diego Unified School District to sell the power generated from the projects. The project financed by Morgan Stanley will allow the school district to start saving on energy costs right away. To avoid the vandal and damage problems normally faced by the pad-mounted type of central inverters in dense traffic locations the microinverters provided by Enphase are placed directly below the solar modules over the rooftop to do away with the requirement of a ground located equipment. In addition to the security benefits, the inverters makes the solar system design simple without requiring DC components, with its string type of design and the compact sized inverter. The Microinverters augments the efficiency and power conversion capabilities of each solar module and increases the total system accessibility for power production to 99.8%.

Jeff Loebbaka, Enphase Energy’s Vice President of worldwide sales, said that the Microinverter product of Enphase has established its worth in large scale commercial as well medium type solar projects. He added that the current association with Morgan Stanley and Main Street is helping the company to improve its product line and makes the microconverter a smart product in a wider way.
