Yingli Green Energy to Achieve 1.7 GW Production Capability by 2011

Yingli Green Energy Holding Company Limited, a vertically integrated solar PV modules producing company which sells its products under the trade name Yingli Solar, has unveiled its expansion plans. Its new 700 MW production facilities are expected to come up at Hainan Province and at its headquarters in Baoding.

The company has decided to construct its 600 MW facility at its headquarters in Baoding with individual PANDA mono-crystalline silicon-based production lines for the manufacture of cells, modules, mono-crystalline ingots and wafers. The building of the facility is entrusted to its fully owned auxiliary company Yingli Energy (China) Co Ltd. The company is planning to have its other new 100 MW multi-crystalline silicon- based production lines in Haikou, Hainan Province and the construction of which will also be managed by Yingli Energy China. The expansion projects are expected to commence their production by 2011 and will augment the total production capability of the company to 1.7 GW.

Liansheng Miao, Yingli Green Energy’s Chairman and CEO, called the projects as landmarks in the growth of his company. He mentioned about the growing demand for the modules manufactured by the company especially the Yingli Solar Panda Module(TM) which offers an energy conversion efficiency of nearly 18.5% thus helping to lessen the balance-of-system expenses.
