Applied Materials, a company providing automation software for use in the production of advanced semiconductor, solar PV products and flat solar panels, declared that Hareon Solar has chosen its SmartFactory production computerization software to better the production output of solar PV cell manufacturing in the latter's production facilities in China.
The SmartFactory software incorporates a unique MES (manufacturing execution system) solution to manage the complete solar PV production process, which includes ingot and wafer to cell and to the end product of solar module. The software has a complete pre-constructed solar production process for quicker initial deployment and allows easy subsequent modifications. The SmartFactory system also comes with a choice of plug-in type of constituents such as the Applied E3 process management technology which interacts directly with the manufacturing equipment for achieving improved and higher regular production output.
Hareon Solar, has chosen the SmartFactory system for its exclusive capability to mix wafer and cell manufacturing lines into a lone virtual manufacturing unit, thus allowing the system to augment the megawatt output. Also such integration will allow Hareon Solar to cut down its production costs by real time synchronization of the production process in its factories located at various places. The company has plans to install Applied’s software in its auxiliary cell factories Altusvia Energy Co., Ltd. and Jiangyin Hareon Solar Technology Co., Ltd.
Charlie Pappis, Applied Global Services company’s Vice President and General Manager said that the solar manufacturers are looking to improved production solutions for an advantageous edge to grow in the solar industry. He anticipates a good demand for the SmartFactory software for the manufacture of crystalline silicon PV modules in China and said that the software can be tailor made to suit the faster expansion programs.
