Vision Electro Mechanical to Use SolFocus’s CPV Solar Systems

SolFocus, a producer of Concentrator Photovoltaic (CPV) solar systems, has declared that Vision Electro Mechanical Company, an auxiliary of Construction Products Holding Company (CPC), will use its CPV systems in the first of its kind solar power generating plant in Saudi Arabia. The solar power project, to be positioned in the Bahra region of Saudi Arabia, will generate approximately 300 MWh of solar energy every year.

The SolFocus CPV systems to be deployed in the project incorporates high efficiency solar cells and utilizes advanced optics to offer easily scalable and consistent power producing solutions to generate solar power cost-effectively. Mark Crowley, SolFocus’s Chief Executive Officer, said that the top level solar atmospheric condition prevailing in t Middle East offers the right type of settings to harvest solar energy on  a large scale cost-effectively. He expressed confidence in bringing cost-efficient solar energy to Saudi Arabia by partnering with Vision Electro Mechanical Company.

Vision while utilizing the SolFocus’s CPV systems at the Bahra facility will also market the SolFocus solar power systems from the Bahra Industrial complex of CPC. Hassan Chahine, Vision’s General Manager, said that both the companies have entered into a partnership to meet the growing demand for solar products in tune with the efforts of the country in promoting solar energy in the region. He added that the completion of the Bahra solar plant will assist in the diversification of an energy mix in the region.
