Solyndra, Photon Energy Collaborate for Prague Solar PV Project

Photon Energy has entered into an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement with Solyndra for a 1.23 MWp Solyndra solar systems project. Photon Energy has started installing solar systems on multiple rooftops in Prague. Solyndra is a manufacturer of cylindrical PV systems.

Novacento has received the permission for the installation of solar systems on the roofs of nursery and school buildings. This project is the largest Solyndra solar installation in Eastern Europe and the first project to exceed 1 MWp in the Czech Republic.

Prague PV Project

The turnkey project entails the development and installation of 18 rooftop systems in Prague that are located on the municipal building’s roofs. The solar panel installation is scheduled to conclude by the end of December 2010.

Photon Energy will provide vendor financing for Novacento for about 80% of the project. After connecting the last system, Novacento will coordinate with the US Export Import bank to secure project financing on a long-term basis.
