AllEarth Renewables, a Vermont-based producer of solar tracking systems and grid-linked wind turbine systems, has contracted an accord to set up a 2.2 MW solar farm with 382 AllSun Trackers in South Burlington, Vermont.
The solar farm to span a 32-acre site away from DuBois Drive in South Burlington, Vermont has already received the necessary permission from the authorities. The solar farm which will be owned and managed by Chittenden County Solar Partners is expected to be functional by 2011.
The South Burlington Solar Farm will incorporate the AllSun Tracker solar electric system invented by David Blittersdorf, CEO of AllEarth Renewables and his team of engineers who are based in Williston, Vermont. According to the clauses of the contract, AllEarth Renewables will design the electrical infrastructure required for the farm, supervise and manage the activities of the subcontractors engaged for the work and produce and offer the 382 AllSun Trackers required for the installation at the Farm.
The AllSun Tracker modules comprise a unique solar tracking technology and a GPS system that allows them to track the motion of the sun all through the day to harness increased solar energy to enable increased power production. The solar farm is anticipated to generate over 3,000,000 kWh of electric power every year which will be roughly 45% more than the energy generated by the fixed type of PV panels.
