The wind power generation project has generated around 315 construction jobs during the construction period and now it has 13 full time employment opportunities to manage the functions of the wind turbine and its maintenance. Also during the construction process of the wind turbine project around $110 million from the project investment cost was expended on direct costs such as material, accommodation and labor in the state of Maine. The concluding of the Kibby project has increased the total combined wind generation capability of TransCanada to 451 MW.

Russ Girling, president and chief executive officer of TransCanada, expressed his happiness to include the Kibby Wind Power Project into the fold of the company, which will enable the company to lead North America as an energy infrastructure company. He added that the company will support Maine to reach its clean energy generation objective of reaching 2000 MW clean power generation by the year 2015.
