Intelligent Battery Offers Better Solar Storage Solutions with IBexus

Intelligent Battery, a designer, distributor and producer of battery packs meant for portable electronics industry, has declared the launching of large sized lithium ion battery for use in renewable energy installations.

The new battery named as IBexus, is a 24 V battery system, which can store up to 4.1 kWh of energy, and comes handy in storing solar energy. The battery incorporates large sized individual cells, which are 70 times bigger in size than the cells that are used in normal consumer batteries. The lithium ion battery utilized in the battery system adequately supports the intermittent solar power generation and provides enough backup power to utilize it during night or off-grid timings.

According to John Battaglini, Intelligent Battery’s Vice President of Business Development, the lithium ion battery with more energy density features, allows 90% more power saving than the normal lead acid batteries for power saving and distribution operations. The battery is manufactured small in size and light in weight when compared to other lead acid batteries. The lithium ion batteries incorporate lesser number of components and connectivity requirements and provide 3,000 cycles when compared to 300 to 400 cycles offered by lead acid batteries.

John Battaglini further said that the renewable energy market is more interested in lithium batteries to manage power generation operations smoothly and reliably. He added that the IBexus batteries can be upgraded from kW to MW storage levels, which makes it convenient to use with residential, business, and commercial applications and utility level solar projects.
