Standard Solar Participates in MDV-SEIA Solar Energy Focus 2010

Standard Solar, a global leader in the field of installation, service and financing of solar systems for residential, commercial and government clients, revealed that the company’s CEO, Tony Clifford, inaugurated the Solar Energy Focus 2010, conducted by the Maryland, DC, Virginia Solar Energy Industries Association (MDV-SEIA), to be held at the Marriott Inn and Conference Center, at the University of Maryland Tony Clifford, who is also the President of MDV-SEIA, is to moderate the luncheon roundtable dialogue on Solar Renewable Energy Credits.

The President of Standard Solar, Scott Wiater, took part in the panel discussions on Solar Energy Markets at Federal Facilities. The topic for this year was ‘Solar: On the Cusp of an Energy Revolution’. This event would not only give industry executives a chance to confer about the modifications in the industry over the past year, but also an opportunity to discuss the future trends.

According to Clifford, state incentives and tax credits have gained predominance among the regional solar energy companies. He felt that more and more people were switching over to renewable energy for their businesses and homes, mainly because of the improved incentives given by the states and also the on-going federal tax credit system.

A documentary film titled On Coal River was also be screened twice depicting the life and struggles of an ex coal miner and his neighbor, fighting a coal company and the local government for a secure and emission free West Virginia. Around 15 firms exhibited their technologies and products in this event.
