Sheetz has opened the “East-West Clean Fuel Corridor” that will supply E-85 fuel. The clean technology fuel is made of corn, containing 85% of ethanol, and 15% of unleaded gasoline. The locations for the corridor include two in Pittsburgh, two in Carlisle, one in Monroeville, and one in Harrisburg.
All the locations will have the signage denoting that E-85 fuel is available. Brochures about the fuel will also be provided to the consumers at every location. Though many vehicles are manufactured to use E-85, few new cars and trucks have been designed to use the clean fuel. The company’s website provides the details of the benefits of the E-85, and in what vehicles, the fuel can be used.
The President and CEO of Sheetz, Stan Sheetz said that the company had opened these locations to make E-85 more easily accessible to their customers. The company is aiming to expand the fuel supply into additional locations and help the customers. The higher usage of E-85 will lessen the dependency on foreign oil, and also offer more opportunities to the corn farmers in America, Sheetz noted.
