Clenergen Corporation declared that it has contracted a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Yuken India Limited for the erection of a 4 MW/h Gasification Biomass Power Plant powered by gas engines at their production facility located in Bangalore, India. The gasification feature will allow Yuken with continuous supply of clean energy at their manufacturing site.
Clenergen India Private Limited, a fully owned auxiliary company of Clenergen Corporation, will enter into a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Yuken for a minimum period of 15 years to provide 2.5MW/h power. The company is planning to sell the remaining generated power to the National Power Grid system. The plant will be erected and commissioned for operations in 10 months after signing the PPA. Clenergen India has plans to take 800 acres of non-cultivable land nearer to the production site on a long-term lease to cultivate fast-growing and high-yielding bamboo species to use as biomass source for the plant. The bamboo cultivated from tissue culture is asexual and non-invasive in nature, does not flower and has a lengthy lifespan of 50 years.
While talking about the MOU, Mark Quinn, Clenergen Corporation’s Executive Chairman, said that the company will continue to grow in mining and production markets where the requirement of uninterrupted power supply is essential for the production. He added that his company utilizes its own biomass raw material produced with least cost to provide cheap power to the companies and move into more vertical markets.
