Wally Gardipe began writing an on-going green biography several years ago. It all started in New Mexico where he lived as a young man and it has solidified into an action plan. He has been living in Dallas, Texas for the past 15 years. He mentions that his interest in energy conservation began with a recycling program, and then went on to composting, followed by water conservation via rain barrels.
Later his focus shifted to developing an energy efficient home encouraged by the tax credits given by the Federal Government. Installation of energy efficient windows, addition of a radiant barrier along with extra insulation to the attic helped in energy conservation efforts. He realized a lot of savings through electricity, gas and water bills. He also invested in a new furnace, tank less water heater and air conditioner.
Gardipe then began researching on solar energy wherein he learnt about North Texas’ Ambassador Energy, specialists in commercial, residential, rooftop and ground based solar PV and thermal applications. With the help of Michael Williams from Ambassador Energy of North Texas, an authorized agency of Ambassador Energy, a 26 panel Solar PV system was installed, all without spoiling the aesthetic appeal of his home, thus becoming one of the foremost citizens in Dallas to be involved in this energy conservation movement. He feels that by becoming a greenie through such efforts, he is setting an example for his fellow neighbors, and also doing his might to conserve precious resources.
Ambassador Energy operates in 12 states in the U.S. with an authorized network of 40 agencies. They also offer an agency program once in every four to six weeks for competent candidates.
