Statkraft Signs Sales Contract with Innotech Solar for Borgo Solar Project

Statkraft has signed a contract for the sale of its Solar Project Borgo, RA2, to Innotech Solar’s, subsidiary company, ITS . RA2 was founded in 2007 as a Project Development Vehicle. RA2 is the owner of 3.3 MWp Borgo Solar Project being constructed in Latina, 70 Kms from Rome. This project has gained grid connection from ENEL and full permission is to be obtained by 2011.

According to Robert Kroni, EVP Power Plants, the Norwegian company Innotech Solar, views Italy as one of the most favorable countries with regard to Solar Power, and its acquisition of the Borgo Project would power more than 1000 homes for 25 years. This sale was consequent to Statkraft’s decision to concentrate on gas power, wind power and hydro power. Statkraft is a leading light in the field of renewable energy in Europe. It is one of the foremost companies in European Exchanges with an employee listing of 3200 in around 20 countries. Other than developing gas, hydro and wind power systems it also focuses on district heating.
