Milton Financials Disclose French Readiness to Receive Tenders for Offshore Wind Farms

Milton Financials has revealed that the French Government is all set to receive proposals for the development of offshore wind farms to boost the nation’s renewable energy productivity.

According to Chantal Jouanno, Junior Ecology Minister of France, the initial discussions would be for proposals to supply three GW capacity power because the country needs to expand and augment their knowledge and know-how in offshore wind systems. A second round of tender requests would also be carried out after some time for more offshore wind energy units to achieve a 6 GW production target by the year 2020.

The investment for these projects would be around€10 billion or $14 billion. A ministry spokesman further disclosed that 10  sites have been located in the Mediterranean Sea, the Atlantic Ocean and in the English Channel and the first wind farm would be functioning by 2015.International manufacturers including Vestas Wind Systems (Denmark), Alstom (France) and Repower (Germany) are likely to be  some of the firms, which are putting forth the tenders for developing the wind farms while French utilities such as EDF, EDF Energies Nouvelles and GDF Suez may perhaps present tenders for operating the projects.
