UMA Solar, producer and distributor of solar products that are employed in residential and commercial usages, declared that it’s SunStar, MAXG and Heliocol plastic polymer solar collector panels meets the requirements of NSF-61 for use with potable drinking water.
National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) is an autonomous, not for profit body that creates the required standards for handling consumer goods, water and food. The NSF-61 details methods to evaluate the products that come in contact with drinking water and how to filter those products that lend higher levels of pollutants in drinking water. Most of the other solar panel products available in the market meet only the NSF-50 standard that specifies the requirements for use in swimming pool water applications. The SunStar, MAXG and Heliocol solar collectors are manufactured utilizing an exclusive over-molding injection expertise to produce joint-less and built-in type of molded thermoplastic units and manufactured utilizing the same material right through the product.
Remo Eyal, COO of UMA Solar, said that his company accords top priority for the safety use of the products. He added that the NSF-61 certification received by the company assures that the panels manufactured by the company do not contaminate the water utilized for drinking, bathing or filling the swimming pool.
