WindTamer, the manufacturer of 8.0GT wind turbine, declared that it has presented its wind turbine to the testing, inspection and certification process of Intertek, a world wide known third-party testing company.
Intertek will examine the patented 8.0GT wind turbine produced by WindTamer for the conformity with the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) specified protection and functioning standards meant for 9.1 small wind turbine and the 61400 series of standards fixed by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The various tests that will be performed by Intertek include load verification; design evaluation; safety and function testing; duration testing; power performance testing; acoustic testing; and performing the structural assessment and checking of the wind turbine after completing the other tests. The details of quality data provided by the Intertek after the tests will decide the eligibility of the wind turbine to get listed under incentive programs and to fulfill the various national and international efficiency and safety criteria. WindTamer wind turbines will undergo the tests at Intertek’s test center located in Otisco, New York.
Adeeb Saba, Vice President of Operations, at WindTamer, said that the starting of the test process amply indicates that the company has moved from its development stage to commercial production stage. He added that the test standards of AWEA and IEC will evaluate the safety and performance of the wind turbine and the certification provided for the wind turbine will corroborate the ability of the company in manufacturing small wind turbines for the selection of the customers.
