Tessera Solar Issues Statement Regarding Calico Solar Project Order

Tessera Solar has released a statement regarding the order from the Chairman of the California Energy Commission (CEC), on the Calico Solar project. The company announced that clerical errors were made in the documents issued by the CEC for the project.

In the order, it was erroneously reported that the commission had withdrawn the approval. In fact, the commission had stayed the approval date, and had scheduled to hold a vote on December 1, to decide the effective date of the approval.

The Calico Solar Project is located in the San Bernardino County, near Barstow in California. The total capacity of the project is 663.5 MW. For the project, the company has entered into a power purchase agreement with Southern California Edison for over 20 years.

Tessera Solar had made many important changes in the project to decrease the effect on the desert environment, as well as to decrease the donated and acquired lands inside the project boundary.
