Recent solar jobs census performed by Solar Foundation, a not for profit research company, indicates that the domestic solar energy businesses such as GoSolarUSA and others will generate thousands of solar jobs during the next year when most of the other industries will witness a stagnant phase.
The write up titled, "National Solar Jobs Census 2010: A Review of the U.S. Solar Workforce," studied the various job opportunities related to solar such as production, wholesale sales, installation, utility companies and other related fields for nearly 31 dissimilar jobs and their growth rates. The study collected details of data from over 2,400 survey respondents. The study explains that more than 50% of the solar companies have unveiled their plans to increase the job positions by nearly 26% next year thus allowing creation of over 24,000 jobs by August 2011. The report further indicates that more than 16,700 solar job sites have advertised for nearly 93,000 solar energy job positions in the US alone during August this year. While nearly 50% of the solar companies are anticipated to increase their job positions only 2% of them are expected to cut down job opportunities. The report recalls that the US economy during the period will witness only 2% growth.
Tyson Rohde, CEO and President of GoSolarUSA, said that the shortage of fossil fuel will ultimately fuel the increased growth of solar energy. He added that the growing number of employment opportunities in solar technologies depicts the strength of the solar industry and confirms that the growth in solar industry did not slow down. He said that his company is funding new solar technologies such as PREEcharge, a defensive type of skin incorporating solar cells and utilizes radio communication facility to power tablet computers and smartphones utilizing renewable sources of energy.
