BioSolar Announces Completion of White BioBacksheet Test Production Run

BioSolar, a company that developed a bio-based technology for the production of BioBacksheets, declared that it has completed the production process of its white BioBacksheet.

The company changed its transparent type of BioBacksheet into white BioBacksheet without altering the inherent qualities of the product. The new BioBacksheet is expected to replace the currently utilized petroleum- based plastic solar cell sheets to reduce the cost of solar installations.

The BioBacksheets made of bio-compound materials requires UL and IEC certification to enable BioSolar to sell them in European and North American markets. The registration and testing with UL and IEC will assure the solar panel producers about the quality of materials included in the backsheet and its capability to endure the tough environmental conditions when they are used in the manufacture of solar panels. The company in order to speed up the process of certification has subjected its new bio backsheets for the tests that are normally conducted during UL and IEC certification process and has announced that the progress is smooth.

The PV module manufacturers who want to incorporate the BioBacksheets in their modules also need to get UL and IEC certifications for the solar modules produced by them. The fully assembled solar modules with the new biobacksheets will also be subjected to all the endurance tests conducted for UL and IEC certification to market their products. BioSolar is currently working in arrangement with such PV module producers who look forward to changing their modules to incorporate the new BioBacksheet.
