Day4 Energy, a solar photovoltaic products and solutions providing company, declared that its auxiliary company, ACI ecoTec, a known supplier of manufacturing automation and process equipment meant for the photovoltaic industry, will produce around 5,000 units of its patented ecoCarrier in 2010, thus increasing its market share over and above 50% of the total projected production of process carriers.
The statement indicates an increase of 30% in its production when compared to the same period in 2009.
The ACI ecoCarrier provides an important solution that is essential in the production process, transporting and storing of photovoltaic wafers and cells in wet-chemical batch preparation. The carrier boasts good stability with barren dead-spots and accommodates 50 to 100 wafers per carrier with sizes ranging from 126 to 156 mm for maximum processing results. The ecoCarrier is manufactured utilizing quality materials and is provided with a special coating to withstand tough ecological conditions and sudden changes in temperatures and capability to remove moisture to prevent contagion in between the processes. The carrier incorporates a steady notched frame that offers the required accuracy in the mechanized loading and unloading process of wafers in the PV cell production process.
Marc Rogovin, SUNIVA’s Vice President, CPO, said that the ACI ecoCarrier while providing increased performance also extends an important link to the production chain. He added that the novel design and the material utilized in the product assist in boosting the production efficiency of the cells, lessen breakages and curtail the process times.
