Natcore Technology declared that it has entered in to strategical coalitions with three companies to step up its solar cell production in the U.S. and in other places.
A number of government and private companies from Brazil, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Singapore and New Mexico were asking for its permission to utilize its liquid phase deposition (LPD) expertise in the building of cost-effective and ecological friendly production facilities to produce silicon solar cells for assembling them into solar panels.
Natcore is mainly a producer of solar cell manufacturing equipment instead of a producer of real solar cells. Since the company is concentrating in the formulation of super efficient tandem solar cell they formed strategical coalitions with three subcontractors to provide their clients a full-fledged production facility with adequate staffing and equipment arrangements. The company has entered into Memoranda of Understanding with Spire Corporation, Jacob White Construction and Helium Resources. As per the MOU, Spire Corporation, a solar company that offers turnkey type of manufacturing facility, will assist Natcore in developing new production set up and provide training to the personal to work in the facility. Jacob White Construction, a Houston-based Construction Company, will assist Natcore to construct new production facilities and will offer consultancy services in design, construction and initial start-up stages. Helium Resources, the Plano, TX-based company experienced in recruiting candidates for energy and construction job positions will assist Natcore in recruiting suitable candidates.
President and CEO of Natcore, Chuck Provini, explained that the goal of his company is to generate solar power in comparable costs with conventional fossil fuel power generation. He said that the new LPD wet chemistry solar cells production process will ultimately substitute the old chemical vapor deposition (CVD) process. He explained that the signed strategical coalitions will place the company in an advantageous position to offer services such as designing, building, automating the production process and staffing solutions. He added that the automation experience of Spire when mixed with the development of Natcor’s exclusive expertise will enable the company to manufacture more proficient solar cells cost-efficiently.
