SunPower, has been engaged by Masdar Institute, located in the fringes of Abu Dhabi, to construct a 1 MW solar power system over its institute building.
The system is currently getting erected over a canopy construction that will provide clean reusable solar energy as well as shade to the roof terrace. The institute will install SunPower E19 solar panels, which are known for their maximum power conversion efficiency of 19.3% under normal conditions.
Alan Frost, Masdar City’s Director, said that the institute building is the foremost to be accomplished in Masdar City. He added that the advanced construction of the campus offers a perfect place to introduce novel inventions and lays a solid path to expertise that are vital for catering the needs of tomorrow. He added that they have selected SunPower for their reliable reputation, quality technology and for their high power generating solar panels to meet their set energy goals.
Jorn Jurgens, Managing Director of SunPower said that the institute assumes a center position for research and improvement activities of Masdar City. He added that his company is happy to associate with the important project and to assist the city to reach its set, renewable energy goals.
