Second Wind Marks 30 Years of Successful Business in Wind Industry

Second Wind, a wind measurement system provider, has completed 30 years in the wind business with established sales channels across the world. The company has crossed 10,000th shipment of its Nomad 2 wind data logger in June 2010. The Nomad 2 has become one of the most used wind data loggers worldwide. The data logger is now being used in seven continents.

The company has installed more than 250 Triton Sonic Wind Profilers in 20 countries. Till now, the Triton has collected above 1.6 million hours of wind data globally, since its introduction in 2008. Eight of the world’s top wind developers, other than Chinese firms, have selected the Triton for wind measurement and wind resource assessment.

Second Wind has expanded its sales channels both nationally and globally this year to meet the demand. At the China Wind Power 2010 conference, the company announced Beijing New Energy Technology as its new certified partner. Further, the company has opened a new office in Europe to extend its business.

The company was selected as a finalist in the RenewableEnergyWorld.com’s Excellence in Renewable Energy awards. Second Wind leaped 2,000 places up in the Inc. 5000 list in 2010. In addition, the company was named as one of the 30 largest cleantech employers in New England.
