Bekaert Specialty Films, the manufacturer of Solar Gard window films, has declared the availability of 30% tax credit to house owners and businesses for professionally erected window films.
While mentioning the closing date as 31st December 2010 for availing tax benefit under federal Emergency Economic Stabilization Act, the company indicates that the proven technology deployed in the manufacture of film allows the home owners to save around 30% on energy spending.
The Solar Gard film regarded as an insulation material under the stipulated government act offers other notable savings on costs for the home owners. Some of the offered savings mentioned by the company include low level cooling costs due to special heat rejection properties of the film, clear visibility properties of the film obviate the need for extra lights inside thus saving on power usage and finally the installation of Solar Gard saves on windows replacement costs.
Solar Gard is the foremost and only, window film product to attain the distinction of environmental product declaration (EPD) which scientifically proved its positive impact over the environment. The installation carried out by the company in 2007-2008 periods is estimated to have saved the entry of over 3.6 million tons of carbon dioxide discharges into the earth’s atmosphere, which can be equated to the total carbon dioxide output of around 16,350 American families each with four family members. The UV blocking features of the film prevents the entry of around 99% of unsafe UV rays within the building. The pasted film keeps the glass panel intact during accidental breakages, theft or violent storm, providing additional safety from sharpened glasses.
