JinkoSolar, Innovalight to Manufacture Solar Cells with Increased Efficiency

JinkoSolar Holding, a solar products manufacturing company, declared that it has contracted a commercial accord with Innovalight, a company that produces the patented silicon ink and extends it patented manufacturing technology to solar cell producing companies.

The signed accord will enable JinkoSolar to pay and buy the silicon ink and the patented manufacturing expertise to manufacture solar cells with a higher level of conversion efficiencies.

The patented nanotechnology-based silicon ink and manufacturing platform offered by Innovalight will introduce a small up-gradation in the solar cell production lines to improve the performance of the cells and to reduce the manufacturing costs. JinkoSolar anticipates improving the conversion efficiency of its monocrystalline solar cells up to 18.6% with the introduction of the new technology in the first part of 2011.

Guoxiao Yao, JinkoSolar’s Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, said that the innovative silicon ink technology offered by Innovalight offers a low cost solution that can considerably augment the production efficiencies of the solar cells with a simple up-gradation in the currently utilized production lines. He added that such integration will bring in increased value for the system investors and integrators and improve the position of the company.
