OPEL Solar, a Shelton, Connecticut-based company, has received the recognition award for its enduring involvement in the development of renewable solar energy with its registered solar trackers systems and high-end solar HCPV expertise from the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce.
The award is presented in acknowledgement of the active role played by the company in assisting the economic development of the region. The Commerce Chamber mentioned that the existing 33 patents of OPEL Solar and its other 17 pending patents as testimony for its innovative approach.
Patrick Charmel, Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce’s Chairman, praised the innovative approach of the company and said that the products developed by the company makes solar power generation, a feasible renewable energy substitute. He added that the company has developed the innovative products with its own quality team of engineers and in collaboration with National Research Council of Canada and the University of Connecticut.
Leon M. Pierhal, OPEL Solar’s CEO, thanked the Chamber for recognizing its productive introductions to increase the usage of solar energy. He explained that the concentrating solar PV modules can be used for power generation in normal industrial and commercial construction applications as well as for utility level solar power projects and all such types of usages help in the creation of more job opportunities and for the economic growth of the region.
