Alstom to Supply Turbine Generators for Guanyinyan Hydropower Project

Alstom announced that it has received a contract to supply equipment for the Guanyinyan hydro power project in China. The total value of the contract is about EUR 70 million.

The company won the contract from Datang Guanyinyan Hydropower Development. Under the contract, Alstom will supply three units of the 600-MW Francis turbine generator.

The generator units will be installed for the hydropower station, which will be built on the Jinsha River, Yunnan province. The company has planned to start commercial operation of the first unit in 2014.

The new contract is the second one for Alstom with the Datang Guanyinyan Hydropower Development. The first contract was signed in 2004 for the PengShui hydropower project, for which Alstom delivered five units of the 350-MW Francis turbine generator.
