Northland Power Income Fund to Build Wind Farm in Frampton, Quebec

Northland Power Income Fund announced that it has received a power purchase agreement for a 24 MW wind farm in Frampton, Quebec, in proximity to the St. Lawrence sea shore. Under the 20-year agreement, the company will build and operate the wind farm.

The company won the contract from Hydro-Québec. Northland Power Income Fund has collaborated with  Frampton municipality that owns 33% stake in the wind power project. The company expects to start the commercial operation of the plant in 2015.

At present, Northland Power is operating a wind power plant near Matane in the Gaspé region of Quebec, with a capacity of 127.5 MW. The company is also constructing a 100 MW wind farm near Mont Louis in Gaspé. The total operating assets of the company is 815 MW.
