AQT Solar Declares the Commencement of Client Shipment

AQT Solar, a low-cost copper-indium-gallium- (di)selenide (CIGS) thin-film solar cells producing company, declared that it has commenced the first-shipment of its AQT CIGS solar cells.

The company currently has a stockpile of orders worth 160 MW, out of which 50 MW is outstanding for 2011. The initial shipment denotes the progress achieved by the company in 2010, which includes the opening of its fully-functional manufacturing facility in Sunnyvale, California during August 2010.

The company started two years back with around $20M as investment has come a long way to accomplish the important landmark. The swift progress from its commencement to achieving commercial business establishes its CIGS 2.0 model, and its potential to provide cost efficient solar solutions. The company has entered into business relationships to move forward quickly and to reduce the costs of installation for the purpose of increasing the dependability and profitability of the company. The company now concentrates on further expansions utilizing the generated revenue and advance payments received for orders.

According to Michael Bartholomeusz, AQT Solar’s CEO, the company has laid down tough business goals for its progress in 2010 and achieved it.
