WindTamer Receives $1.5 Million Incentives for Rochester Facility Expansion

WindTamer announced that it has received about $1.5 million in state and local incentives. The company received the incentive package for its proposed expansion of its facility at Rochester in New York.

The expansion includes improving leaseholds, acquiring and installing equipment and machinery, training employees as well as working capital.

The company has received a tax credit help of up to $900,000 from the Empire State Development, under the Excelsior Jobs Program. The tax credit assistance may be received in cash  under specific circumstances. The Neighborhood and Business Development Department of the City of Rochester has proposed for a low-interest loan, which is subject to approvals.

For the expansion project of WindTamer, the Department of Planning and Development of the Monroe County has offered up to $400,000 by means of programs including low-interest loans and sales tax incentives. WindTamer’s project is expected to create a minimum of 91 jobs over the next five years.
