Here Enterprises Develops Wind Farm in Texas

Here Enterprises has declared the development of a wind power production project in Floresville, Texas.

The power project is coming up near San Antonio where the company has recently purchased the Cycle Ranch Project with an existing motocross speedway generating revenue and providing adequate amount of land for wind energy production. According to Mark Ryun, CEO of the company, Texas has abundant supply of wind energy and his company is committed to generate most of the clean energy utilizing it at its Cycle Ranch development project.

Meanwhile, the Wind Technologies Market Report for 2009 brought out by the United States Department of Energy and printed in August 2010 indicates that the state of Texas leads the nation in terms of newly installed wind power production capability with 2,292 MW. The state has more wind power installed capacity than any other state in the U.S. and leads all except the top five countries in the world. The state with a total wind power generation capacity of 9,727 MW has the six biggest wind farms located in the country.

According to the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT), in 2009 the wind power generation accounted for 6.2% of the states total power production. Wind power was contributing 2.9% in 2007 and 4.9% in 2008.
