CCM has just published a report on biomass energy for the first time called Biomass Energies Market in China-Edition 1 in April 2010.
The report has a detailed picture of biomass energy sources from various inputs, besides details on feedstock and production, marketing options, consumption status, potential for the future, and policies and incentive offered for biomass energy generation. Profiles of some global players in the field and future prospects are also part of the report.
The rapid economic growth in China has fuelled demands for energy, and already fossil fuel supplies are falling far behind in demand. In a bid to tackle this shortage, the government has formulated many policies to help develop medium and long term solutions for biomass energy with financial grants for deserving projects.
Although production of fuel ethanol is greatly supported by the government, in general biomass energy development has been facing serious constraints such as inadequate technology, insufficient acreage for corn plantations and inadequate yield of other forms of feedstock. However, all these problems could be overcome with improved technology and greater supply of feedstock.
