The Chinese Drywall Complaint Center is dramatically expanding their investigation of toxic Chinese drywall in Texas. The communities involved in this expanded investigation include Houston, Austin, Dallas & Fort Worth. According to the group, "for many Texas homeowners, who live in a new or remodeled home; built, or remodeled after 2003, toxic Chinese drywall may explain why you have medical issues, like upper respiratory problem, headaches, or nose bleeds, & your home is on its second, or third air conditioning unit."
Other symptoms include rashes, electrical device failure, microwave failures, TV, or computer problems, silver that turns black, etc. The group says, "another indicator is that a Texas homeowner leaves their home for a few days, and they feel better. They return home and they are sick again." What are the peak years for toxic Chinese drywall being used in new or remodeled home in Houston, Austin, Dallas and other cities in Texas? According to the Chinese Drywall Complaint Center, "as far as new homes in Texas, we think toxic Chinese drywall was first introduced in 2003, or 2004. The peak years were 2005-2007." The group adds, "we are also very nervous about Texas homes damaged by Hurricanes Rita, Ike, or Gustav. If New Orleans is any guide; many of the homes in Texas repaired because of storm damage, may have involved toxic Chinese drywall. This includes, Port Arthur, Galveston, Houston and Beaumont, Texas."
