CEZ Consolidates Stake in Wind Energy

A member of the CEZ group, CEZ Romania, has purchased a hydro-energy plant located in Caras Severin County close to Resita, becoming the100% proprietor of TMK Hydroenergy Power.

Another wind farm owned by the company in the Dobrogea county of the country generates about 300 MW at the first phase. It is geared to become the biggest wind farm in the country to be built on land, and will generate around 600 MW when fully operational. The new purchase reasserts the company’s position as a major player in the area of semi-regulated renewable energy.

The newly acquired company consists of four reservoirs with dams, namely the Trei Ape, Gozna, Valiug and Secu, apart from four small hydro power plants Crainicel I and II, Grebla and Breazova with a total capacity of roughly 18 MW, with individual capacity of each unit being less than 10 MW.
