Petra Solar, a market leader in pole-mounted and grid-tied, solar generating systems, which contain a Smart Grid backbone for utilities, has proclaimed that its President and CEO, Dr. Shihab Kuran, would present a keynote address at the Networked Solar, a Conference, which would be held on January 25-26, 2011 in Jersey City, NJ.
This conference, a first of its kind, is to hold discussions on the convergence of solar energy and the smart Grid. Dr. Kuran would speak on the 26th and offer insights about Petra Solar’s Smart Grid solutions, which were not only highly innovative but would also provide major commercial benefits to handle the challenges faced by the utilities and at the same time help in economic development and creation of green jobs.
On the first day of the conference, a discussion on “Building a Roadmap for Solar/Smart Grid Convergence,” would take place wherein Joe De Luca, Petra Solar’s Vice President of Development and Product Marketing, would participate along with a panel of policy makers and leading utility executives. They would scrutinize and evaluate the merging of the domain and also explore probable frameworks that would ensure moving to a less-carbon intensive and less centralized electric power delivery system via significant changes made in policy, investment and technology. The second day would feature another debate on “Technologies Enabling the Integration of Solar Power and the Grid” with Dr. Johan Enslin’s participation along with top industry technologists. Dr. Enslin is the Chief Technology Officer at Petro Solar and he would offer an overview of the company’s innovative technologies and their usage in utility scale solar power and how they mesh with Smart Grid Utility Requirements.
Dr. Kuran commented that the company was thrilled to be the signature sponsor for this event. This conference would unite leader and key players from both clean tech and utility sectors who would evaluate the Smart Grid’s evolution and value for consumer and the utilities.
The need of the day seems to be RE portfolios, solar technologies and Smart Grid Solutions and this event would focus on the challenges faced by these industries. It would also be a forum to explore how facing the challenges in the 21st century could produce opportunities for growth in jobs, new technological ventures and innovative policy changes.
The event is hosted by Greentech Media at the Westin Jersey City Newport Hotel. CEOs and CTOs of other Smart Grid, Solar Companies, major utilities would also feature as panel speakers. The event’s registration processes are open and a 15% discount is available for those who use the promotional code TNSPTA, and further discounts are also offered for academic, non-profit and government employees.
