Sulfurcell Solartechnik has declared that its highly efficient thin-film solar modules have been utilized to build a huge rooftop photovoltaic system in Berlin City.
The system has been deployed on the Am Oktogon tower at Berlin’s Adlershof business park. The rated capacity of the system is 1,010 kWp and it has an annual production capacity of 820-MWh that can meet the power demands of nearly 300 houses.
The Chief Executive Officer at Sulfurcell, Nikolaus Meyer, stated that the company’s thin-film solar modules were specifically developed for building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) applications like the Am Oktogon project, which requires easy deployment, better aesthetic appeal and high performance. The Chief Sales Officer at Sulfurcell, Henrik Krupper, said that the company is committed to offering more products and solutions for solar construction and BIPV markets.
Sulfurcell’s solar facade modules will be used in additional eco-friendly towers that will be constructed at the Adlershof business park. Sulfurcell’s hallmark technology, solar facade module was first utilized on its headquarters in Adlershof in 2009.
