KYOCERA Solar Modules Receive TUV Rheinland Certification

Kyocera announces that its Solar Modules passed all of TUV Rheinland’s Long-Term Sequential Tests. The modules were evaluated for reliability and quality by the independent firm, TUV Rheinland Japan.

KYOCERA Solar Modules

TUV Rheinland Japan evaluated Kyocera’s 210-watt solar module with four sub- tests-: Damp Heat, Bypass Diode, Humidity Freeze and Thermal Cycling. These tests subjected the solar module to more harsher conditions than those specified by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The same module was subjected to all the four sub-tests, though by convention separate modules could have been used for the individual tests. Kyocera’s solar module maintained a constant level of power output during the long test. The rigorous testing proved the reliability and quality of the solar modules.

Kyocera ’s president said that the solar modules installed at power plants in Thailand and Spain were performing at power output levels approximately 16% higher than original estimates.
