Chinese PV Manufacturers Support Sunvalley Solar in Technology Development

Los Angeles-based, Sunvalley Solar announced support from PV manufacturers in China for development of its patented solar technology. This company provides solar integration systems and solar power technology.

Sunvalley Solar had proposed a ‘Surface Plasmon PV Concentrator’ for Department of Energy’s (DOE) SBIR (Small Business Innovative Research) grant. This concentrator, based on patent pending technology, could be used to improve solar cell efficiency and commercialize panel manufacturing.

Chinese manufacturers, CEEG under China Sunergy and Tianwei Solarfilms have expressed interest in the development of Sunvalley Solar’s technology. CEEG, China Sunergy’s Sales Manager, announced that the technology would be beneficial and that the possibility of high –quality and cost-effective nanofabrication tools was exciting. Baoding Tianwei, a developer of solar cell modules, recognized the potential of Sunvalley Solar’s technology to speed up the development of the next generation of thin film solar cell. It announced its interest in marketing the technology, based on its feasibility.
