Going Solar to Construct Roof-top Solar Power Project in the UK

Going Solar, a north Worcestershire-based company, declared that it has contracted an order worth £1.2m for the installation of a roof-top solar power plant.

The installation to be carried out over a warehouse site that can roughly measure the area of a football field will incorporate around 2,200 solar photovoltaic panels. Going Solar has associated with a renewable energy developing company based-in-London in securing the project.

The solar power project anticipated to get started by February this year is said to be double the size of the largest solar plant presently functional over the rooftop at Worthy Farm. The power produced by the installation is sufficient to meet the power requirements of over 100 houses located in Ipswich and Suffolk.

Charles Houston, Going Solar’s director, said that the order is biggest for the company as on date. He added that the company is planning to treble the size of the company to increase the work area of the company all over the Midlands and the other parts of the UK.
