Pratt + Whitney Power Systems to Supply PURECYCLE Systems for Geothermal Project in Turkey

Pratt & Whitney Power Systems (PWPS), a United Technologies  group company based in Hartford, Conn, USA, has declared that it is entering the clean energy market of Turkey with the sale of its three module type of patented PURECYCLE Organic Rankine Cycle units with the capability to produce a maximum of 780 kW geothermal power.

The geothermal power project possessed and operated by Jeoden Geothermal is a partnership venture between MDO Group and NRG Enerji. The project situated in Denizli close to Izmir, Turkey is anticipated to be functional by April 2011. The project will deploy three PureCycle systems provided by (PWPS) and utilize the 120°C geothermal power available at the site to generate 780 kW electrical power. The organic Rankine Cycle technology deployed at the site is first of its kind expertise to generate power utilizing less than125°C geothermal power.

The patented PureCycle system offered by PWPS incorporates a closed-cycle process that function utilizing hot water resources with low to moderate level of temperature. The fully enclosed systems utilize a simple evaporation process and generate power without any type of emissions.
