Hanwha SolarOne to Deliver 54 MW Solar PV Modules

Hanwha SolarOne, a China-based producer of silicon ingots, solar photovoltaic cells, solar wafers and modules, declared that it has contracted an accord with an auxiliary company MEMC Electronic Materials to provide PV modules worth 54 MW during 2011 to an associate of SunEdison for use in solar power projects. The contract allows an option to supply an additional 30 MW modules in 2011.

According to Bruce Ludemann, Hanwha SolarOne, North America’s Vice President and General Manager, the company looks forward to establish in the North American solar market for its long-term business success and SunEdison has assisted it to make a valued entry into the Canadian and US solar markets. He said that his company wanted to continue its business success in 2010 and persist in  remaining as an associate and an important supplier to SunEdison during the up coming years. He anticipates that the exports of his company will cross over 100 MW in the North American markets in 2011.

Dr. Peter Xie, Hanwha SolarOne’s President, expressed his happiness about the selection of his company by MEMC to supply PV modules for the projects of SunEdison and said that his company has first supplied the modules to SunEdison in 2010.
