Hong Kong-based company, GCL-Poly Energy Holdings, has signed a €36 million contract with AEG Power Solutions (AEG PS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of 3W Power Holdings.
Under the terms of the contract, AEG PS will deliver Thyrobox M power supply systems to AEG PS, which will be able to strengthen its position as a major wafer and polysilicon distributor across the globe.
The polysilicon market after a low-phase period, is witnessing a significant growth in view of the new capacity expansions and projects on the horizon.
AEG PS’s Thyrobox M power supply system offers a better solution for polycrystalline silicon deposition procedure. In fact, it is 70% smaller than other systems available in the market and 25% smaller than the earlier Thyrobox systems. This feature helps in cutting down commissioning, installation, maintenance and construction expenditures. The modular system offers over 99% energy efficiency and provides a stable and reliable solution to polysilicon producers.
AEG Power Solutions’ Vice President, Power Control Systems, Gladwyn De Vidts, stated that China’s solar market is expanding rapidly and the company is focusing on this market in the coming years. De Vidts added that the new contract reinforces the company’s position as a major technology supplier.
