Zotos International, a fully owned auxiliary of Shiseido International and engaged in the beauty care industry, declared that it has joined the Green Power Partnership of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and reached the 18th spot among the top 20 list of EPA On-site Generation Site.
The company is anticipated to produce around 6.5 million kWh of clean electricity from its two on-site wind turbines. The power generated by the turbines will meet nearly 50% power requirement of the company.
The renewable energy use of Zotos qualified it to become a member of EPA’s Green Power Leadership Club, a status extended to companies that have statistically crossed the minimum green power usage mentioned by EPA. Members of the Green Power Leadership will produce power from green-energy sources such as bio-gas, geothermal, solar, wind and low-level impact making hydro power.
EPA USA estimates that the 6.5 million kWh renewable energy power generated by Zotos can be equated to removal of carbon dioxide generated by nearly 900 passenger cars by keeping them off the road. The power generated from the facility is enough to supply electricity to over 500 average homes in the USA for a year. The company also has plans to lessen nearly 75% of carbon dioxide emissions at the packing stage by introducing hybrid bioplastic resin packing facility.
