Ormat Technologies Increases Output of North Brawley Geothermal Power Facility

Vertically integrated geothermal and recovered energy power company, Ormat Technologies has declared that the clean energy output from the North Brawley geothermal power facility has been augmented from 25 MW to over 30 MW due to the increased injection capacity that was connected recently.

Injection related devices and tie-in lines were deployed recently at the geothermal project subsequent to the construction activities taken up during the fourth quarter of 2010 to establish a new injection site to the eastside of the existing field.

It is anticipated that the power output would augment more as supplementary production is operational. However, after one month of analysis, it is concluded that injection is still inadequate at the geothermal power facility. Ormat Technologies is continuing  its ongoing assessment of  the new injection system and is planning  more actions to enhance the production capacity. The company will report about its operational updates of the North Brawley geothermal power facility in the upcoming fourth quarter and full year 2010 results in the  annual report.
