A collaboration of Exergy Development Group, Reunion Power, Atlantic Power and GE Energy Financial Services, a division of GE, has declared the completion of about $500 million worth Idaho Wind Partners project, which is now operational.
The project was completed within five months and comprises 122 numbers of GE wind turbines each with a capacity of 2 MW. Exergy was the developer and Fagen led the construction of the wind power farms.
The wind power farms are situated on 11 sites in two topographically dissimilar areas in southern Idaho, including three wind power farms in Burley and eight wind power farms in Hagerman. The distance between Burley and Hagerman is 70 miles. However, the wind power farms are operating as a united system, offering operational efficiency. The combined installed capacity of the wind power farms is 183 MW of energy, equivalent to meeting the power consumption of 39,700 average Idaho homes.
The 11 wind power sites have signed separate power purchase agreements with Idaho Power Company for 20 years. Each site is connected to the transmission and distribution system through separate electrical interconnections. Exergy, GE Energy Financial Services and Atlantic Power have non-managing member equity interests in the project, while Reunion Power owns the managing member equity interest and manages the wind power farms.
